A White Christmas in Weston?

A large storm system that has recently dumped a large amount of snow across the eastern seaboard of the United States is currently tracking its way across the atlantic giving hope to many that the UK is due for a White Christmas. Although the current forecast in Weston looks to be warm with a possible chance of rain, there is a slim possibility that this may change and we will see the first White Christmas in the town in more than 3 decades.

No sparkle this Christmas

Toddlers at St Georges pre-school have been banned from using glitter and sand by the St Georges Community Centre committee with the reason being that it damages the wooden floor.

A member of the committee claimed the ban was introduced because of several complaints over safety when glitter and sand get on the floor and the martial arts mats. Apparently parents have been told that the glitter combined with the sand acts like sandpaper and is ruining the hall for others.

The parents have now started a petition to overturn the ban, whilst the committee members are disappointed at the response and welcome any thoughts to resolve the issue.
