FAQs

Here are some of the questions that we get asked the most by our readers:

Q: Is the Weston Echo available in print at my local newsagent?

A: Currently no. Because of our not-for-profit status and our commitment to the environment we do not produce our articles in print. This doesn’t mean we have ruled out having a hard copy, just that at the moment we don’t see it as financially viable.

Q: How much do I have to pay to subscribe to the Weston Echo?

A: The Weston Echo is completely free maintained and updated by a hard-working group of volunteers.

Q: Can I submit an article to the Weston Echo?

A: Yes you certainly can, in fact all of our articles are written by members of the public who have a passion for local affairs and events. Just e-mail editor@westonecho.co.uk and let us know what you want to write about.

Q: Are you anything to do with The Weston Mercury?

A: No, we are completely independent and have no connections with the Weston Mercury or its parent company Archant Regional (apart from being based in Weston of course!).

Q: Are you a tabloid paper?

A: We encourage our writers to practice freedom of speech and express their opinions, and most importantly write interesting articles that capture the public imagination. Some of our writers may choose to write in a style that would be considered tabloid but in general we don’t fall into any of the traditional types of newspapers.
